Editorial policies and publication guidelines for the Journal of Sharia Sciences and Arabic Language at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University
First: Publishing ethics for members of the journal's editorial board:
Commitment to neutrality and objectivity in dealing with research and articles submitted to the journal.
Prioritizing the magazine's interests over personal interests, and committing to not exploiting the magazine's membership for personal purposes.
Preserving the rights of researchers, and ensuring that none of the editorial board members benefit from the research submitted to the journal or any part thereof before it is published to the public at all.
Providing the necessary guidance related to the journal to researchers who contact the journal to publish their research or articles.
Written communication is restricted to the journal's editorial management and researchers only.
Not disclosing the researcher's name and identity to the referees.
Not disclosing the names of the arbitrators to the researcher, especially those to whom the arbitration reports are sent for amendment.
Apologizing to the researcher when his research does not pass the arbitration process, without providing him with the arbitrators' reports.
All arbitration decisions are kept confidential by the journal, and only the relevant administrative bodies of the journal are informed of them.
Complete abstention from accepting gifts or favors, in order to maintain complete neutrality and integrity in dealing with research submitted to the journal for the purpose of arbitration.
Second: Conflict of interests:
The journal adopts an administrative system that requires a member of the editorial board to disclose any conflict of interest between him and the author of a research paper submitted for arbitration and publication, and consequently exclude him entirely from dealing with the research in question at all.
Third: Researchers' ethics:
In adherence to scientific integrity and the intellectual property rights of authors and researchers, the journal stipulates the most prominent unacceptable behaviors, which will result in the rejection of the submitted research, cessation of future dealings with the researcher, and defamation, in addition to other measures determined by the editorial board at the time. These unacceptable behaviors are:
1- Plagiarism: It has three forms:
First: Plagiarizing the entirety of another researcher's research work.
Second: Partial plagiarism from the books and research of others without attribution.
Third: Plagiarism, where the researcher draws from other research he has previously published without attributing it to them.
2- Fabrication: meaning presenting data or results without conducting the relevant research .
3- Falsification: by intentionally altering data or results in order to reach a misleading conclusion .
4- Researchers may submit their research to other publications concurrently with their submission to the journal or after receiving acceptance. This also applies to research that undergoes very minor changes. It should be noted that if publication is delayed by more than two years, researchers are entitled to publish in another journal, provided they notify the editor-in-chief or managing editor beforehand.
Fourth: Procedures for handling and reviewing research:
When submitting the research, the researcher must adhere to the publication guidelines adopted by the journal and published on its website.
The editorial board conducts a preliminary examination of the submitted research to determine whether or not the research is suitable for arbitration.
The research is sent to two referees in the same field of research, without the researcher’s name, and they are provided with the necessary refereeing forms to be filled out. If the referees disagree on the recommendation, the research is sent to a third referee who will decide.
If the result of the arbitration is: rejection, or one arbitrator rejects and the other requests substantial modifications with re-arbitration; the researcher is apologized to.
The researcher is notified of the reviewers' comments, to amend them and return the research to the journal in a revised form within two weeks of the date the research was sent to him.
The editorial board evaluates the researcher's revisions. If they meet 80% of the reviewers' comments, the researcher receives a letter of acceptance for publication. Upon publication, the researcher is notified and provided with a link to the published research.
The editorial board has the right to withdraw from accepting or publishing a research paper if it is found that there are legal or Sharia violations, or content that violates the system of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the research paper will be deleted from the journal’s website, with a note indicating the reason for canceling publication.
The researcher has the right to withdraw the research before it is published in the journal, if he submits to the editorial board in writing convincing reasons, while bearing the financial and moral consequences resulting from that, but after publication the researcher does not have that right.
Fifth: The obligations of the arbitrators:
The peer review process aims to achieve greater quality and accuracy in research accepted for publication in the journal. Therefore, reviewers must do the following:
Providing scientific feedback that would improve the research and enhance its scientific methodology.
The research was reviewed with impartiality, objectivity, and utmost care.
Inform the journal of any published or forthcoming content similar to the research.
Notify the journal of any suspected breach of scientific integrity.
Adherence to the confidentiality of research, and not benefiting from it before publication, or leaking it to any other party.
Sixth: Research conducted using artificial intelligence:
The journal does not accept any research conducted using artificial intelligence, as it falls short of meeting the standards of scientific integrity and research ethics. Should any such research be found to be unethical, the journal reserves the right to hold the researcher fully accountable, both financially and professionally, as determined by the editorial board.
Seventh: Regarding research related to institutions or individuals other than the researcher, the following must be adhered to:
Obtain approval from the relevant institution or individuals.
Maintaining the privacy of the organization or the individuals concerned.
Adherence to the research standards and ethics relevant to this type of research.
Eighth: Publishing rules:
The research should be characterized by originality, contribution to knowledge, and intellectual integrity.
The research should not be derived from other works by the researcher.
The research must not have been previously published, nor submitted for publication to any other entity, and the researcher pledges in writing not to submit it for publication to any publishing outlet until he receives the decision of the editorial board.
The number of search words should not be less than (four thousand words), and not more than (ten thousand words).
The researcher must attach two copies: the first in Word format containing the researcher's complete information, and the second in PDF format without the researcher's information.
For writing the scientific material of the research, the ( Traditional Arabic ) font is used in size (18), and for the footnotes in size (12).
For the English footnote, use the Times New Roman font , size (10).
The researcher takes care to ensure his research is free from linguistic and grammatical errors.
The summary should be written as follows:
The summary should not exceed (200) words and should include:
Research topic .
Research objectives .
Research methodology .
Key findings - without enumeration .
Key recommendations - without listing them .
Keywords - at least three words.
The summary should be translated into English by an accredited center, with proof of translation attached.
Write the research paper as follows:
The introduction includes: (the research topic, its importance, its problem, its objectives, its limitations, previous studies, its methodology, and the research plan).
The research is divided into sections according to the research plan, taking into account coherence and logical sequence.
The verses of the Holy Qur’an are written in the Ottoman script between flowery brackets, and the Medina Qur’an is adopted for this purpose.
Documentation: The journal uses the Chicago system .
First: Documentation in the footnote of the page :
The footnotes are numbered sequentially from the first page of the research to its end.
All documentation is placed in the footnote, and nothing is placed in the main text, except for Quranic verses.
Footnotes are written in Arabic according to the Chicago style .
The verses are documented in the text by mentioning the name of the surah and the verse number between brackets, as follows: [Al-Baqarah: 119].
Book documentation: Complete book information should be written upon its first appearance: author's name, book title (in italics) , name of editor or commentator (if applicable), edition number (country of publication, date of publication), volume, and page number. For example: For the hadith: Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, Sahih al-Bukhari , edited by Mustafa al-Bugha , 5th edition (Damascus: Dar Ibn Kathir and Dar al-Yamamah, 1993), 1:336. Hadith number: 67.

Ninth: General requirements:
The research paper is uploaded to the journal's official website and also sent to the journal's email address. sattamjournal@psau.edu.sa
The editorial board of the journal has the right to conduct a preliminary examination of the research and to decide whether or not it is suitable for arbitration.
The researcher is provided with a letter of acceptance for publication if the research is approved, or with a letter of apology for publication if it is not approved, without disclosing the referees' reports.
After publishing his research in the journal, the researcher is not entitled to publish it in another publication until five years have passed since the date of publication, with the journal being notified of this, and indicating that it has been previously published.
The journal has the right to include accepted research in local and international databases, for a fee or free of charge, without the need for the researcher's permission .
Sending the researcher's research to the journal's email or uploading it to its website constitutes acceptance of the journal's publishing terms.
The opinions expressed in the published research reflect the views of the researchers and do not represent the views of the journal.
If the research is published in print, the researcher is given five copies of his research, noting that the journal currently adopts an electronic publishing policy.
